How coverage works in Maryland

Maryland runs its own marketplace, Maryland Health Connection, instead of HealthCare.gov. Public plans there are based on your income and are designed for major pre-existing conditions and people who qualify for government assistance. Private plans are based on your health, are underwritten, and often open up nationwide PPO networks. The first question is always which side fits you.
